Not an earth shattering problem. I use soundflower extensively to facilitate screen recordings over Facetime on my iMac. Without it, it is really difficult to record system sounds as well as my external mic.

There are two Build Configurations in the project: the Development build configuration builds Soundflower for the architecture of the machine you are using suitable for debugging. The Deployment configuration builds a Universal Binary version suitable for distribution. Both configurations link against the Mac OS 10.4 SDK.
After updating to OS X El Capitan I found that soundflower simply wasnât âthereâ and didnât/wouldnât run. A quick google brought me to THIS PAGE â with the instructions working perfectly. Only thing I did differently was delete the old soundflower from the system â and yes, the uninstall soundflower option did still work.
So far so good â no major problems and the software Iâve been using that relies on soundflower is back to normal.

But what most of you don't know is that you can use another extension to capture audio. I present to you, iShowU Audio Capture! CHECKLIST
1. Install iShowU Audio Capture(link in checklist) like you installed Soundflower. 2. (optional)Uninstall Soundflower. 3. Open Audio MIDI Setup. Click the '+' button at the bottom left of the window. Choose 'Create Multi-Output Device'. Soundflower For Mac 10.114. Check the boxes for Built-in Output & iShowU Audio Capture in the 'Use' column. Also check the box for Built-in Output in the 'Drift Correction' column to prevent audio sync issues.5. Open System Preferences, then go to Sound. In the Output section, select your newly created multi-output device. ![]() 6. Open OBS. Go to Settings, then Audio. Select iShowU Audio Capture as one of your Mic/Auxiliary Audio Device.
